Celebrating 50 years of broadcast on RAW 1251AM, Vinny and I will be counting down the biggest tunes spanning the decades live today at 2PM. I should stress that I personally have not been doing radio for 50 years, as that wouldn't quite work given my birth certificate. However, some great people like Steven Merchant, Dave Lamb and David Davis (all notable alumni from RAW) certainly have been in the game for a good chunk of time. To celebrate their achievements, and reflect on some good times, RAW has launched a limited-time pop-up station called "Retro RAW", featuring the return of some notable alumni, familiar faces and broadcast royalty.
So join me and Vinny as we discover the cultural trends that shaped the station through the years, and maybe uncover some key common factors which makes a track truly chart-topping on student radio.
